Welcome to the USS Tecumseh NCC-14934-A!

Council Chambers, United Federation of Planets
Presidio, San Francisco, Earth
Alexa Rand, Reporter

In the aftermath of the council's surprising declaration of a cease-fire between the United Federation of Planets and Alliance forces in the Eye of Ra galaxy, disturbing information has been coming to light.

As we all know, none of the missing scientists have yet to be returned to their families, most of which are now living in a protest tent located outside of the Presidio. Every day, family members petition, in person, for news on their loved ones and every day, they are told that no new information is forthcoming. This morning, Clarissa Wentworth, wife to famed propulsion technology expert Edgar Wentworth, collapsed at the meeting and was rushed to a nearby medical center for treatment. Edgar Wentworth was the first of the scientists to go missing. Dr. T'Rayl informed us that Mrs. Wentworth suffered a mild stroke and is resting comfortably. She is expected to be released by the end of the week.

While no new information is available on Dr. Wentworth's whereabouts, a highly placed member of the UFP, under condition of strict anonymity, told us about a gate which connected our own Milky Way Galaxy with the Eye of Ra, allowing for virtually instantaneous travel between. It is this gate that is assumed to be the means by which the scientists were taken. Starfleet has established a base in the Eye of Ra galaxy and I've been assured that diplomatic efforts to secure their return will continue.

In the meantime, the families of over 100 missing scientists wait anxiously for news of their loved ones.

» Situation on Board the Tecumseh

Posted on Tue Aug 17th, 2010 @ 3:02pm by Captain Rua'am (Roo) Dane in Simm Announcement

Friends,

I don't even know how to begin this. The Tecumseh, born of the White Dove, was my first real command and I've loved being here, playing with you all. Through our two year history, we've been through some crazy, political times and no question, in that respect, I've made some mistakes in where I placed my loyalties. I thought that problem would be solved by founding Invictus. A fleet that wouldn't have all of those political issues.

Hey, I've always been something of a dreamer.

There are a lot of things I could say here. I could tell you about the seven founders of Invictus and how I'm the last one. How they all withdrew their active support, found other things to do. I could tell you that I've been fighting a losing battle for months now with respect to cooperation and regular participation.

With one stellar exception. I have to take my hat off to Tom, Rico's writer. When every other voice went silent, he kept writing. He's got my respect and deep gratitude.

Someone I know once told me -- people vote with their feet. And it sure looks as though the vote's in. I'm sorry if I've failed you all in some essential way. However, its clear to me that with so little regular, consistent, active participation, the Tecumseh can't continue.

So effective immediately, I'm shutting the site down, I'm shutting Invictus down. I wish you well in wherever you go, whatever you do next. Its been a pleasure writing with you and I hope you all find a ship that suits your needs better, that you find what you're looking for ...

Hugs,
Roo

Please welcome a returning player -- 1st Lt. Ben Gannon who will be heading our Marine detachment going forward. This is a new area for us and we'll work out a way for the Marines and Security to both get their share of the action.

In any event, welcome back Ben!

You may have recently received an advertisement -- not sure how that happened. I don't think that it came through the site but I'll ask web genius to look into it.

Posts and notices are sent from the site to everyone in the game. Address information is then available on every one of our computers so its also possible that the information was picked up from there and then sent back out to all of us.

I just noticed I've goofed on a few of the JPs I've posted. They should have been posted under Rylie is Missing. Sorry I wasn't paying more attention when I posted.
